D. Kottick was born in Israel in 1956. He received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Ben-Gurion University, Beer-Sheva, Israel, in 1982 and 1986 respectively. In 1986 he joined the Research and Development Division in the Israel Electric Corporation Ltd. where he acts as Head, Insulation and Insulators Section. His main fields of interest include: power quality, insulation of H.V. power lines and electric vehicles. He is a senior member of IEEE. uu350@iec.co.il.

Dragomir Vasic was born in Novi Sad, Serbia on 1955. He graduated from University of Novi Sad, in 1979 with M.Sc. (Dip. Ing.) in electrical power engineering. His experiences are related to managing research and developments in Electrical Power Company Elektrovojvodina. From 1986 to 1990, he was a Vice President of Energy Department of Province of Vojvodina Government. From November, 1995 he manages own consulting and engineering Company VING doo where he has worked on energy efficiency related programs.

Born in 1953 in Ghent, Guy Kasier gained his specialist diploma in electronics and subsequently worked for 12 years as a therapist in a psychiatric centre. During this period, he also was awarded a diploma in orthopedagogics, making him one of those rare people who combine a technical background with experience in the care sector.

Jan J. M. Desmet (M’01) was born in Kortrijk, Belgium, on March 30, 1960. He received the polytechnical engineer degree from the polytechnic in Kortrijk Belgium in 1983 and the M.S degree in electrical engineering in 1993 from the V.U.Brussels Belgium. Since 1984 he is member of the staff of the Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen Dept. P.I.H. He is professor at the Dept. P.I.H. teaching variable speed drives and industrial electric measurement techniques. His research interests include variable speed drives, rational use of electrical energy and power quality.

Stephanie has been involved in engineering for many years and is a well known face in the engineering fraternity in the UK and abroad. Her degree in Electromechancical Power Engineering provided her with the skills necessary to take in to account all aspects of power systems and truly understand the impacts and causes of faults and disturbances. After leaving university she worked for PowerGen’s Power Technology Centre and became involved with the PQ debate in the UK.

Marcel Didden was born in Heerlen (NL) in 1974. He received his MSc.-degree in Electrical Engineering from the RWTH Aachen (Germany) in 1998. In 2003 he obtained his Ph.D. with his thesis ‘Techno-Economic analysis of methods to reduce damage due to voltage dips’ at the KULeuven (Belgium). Until 2006 he worked at Laborelec as a consultant in the area of Power Quality and Energy Auditing.
